11:37 AM - Designing a pre-show...
For the past few years, I have been working with a local haunted house attraction, doing sound effects and such for them. I often slip in tributes to the Haunted Mansion, when I can.
This year, they are really stepping things up. One of the haunted walks (based on fairy tales) is getting a pre-show room, where we plan to have a talking storybook (projected pages) narrating stories, then interruptions from a talking magic mirror. I have been working on the script, animating the mirror face and all kinds of goodies. It's not quite Disney, but it's fun.
We are also doing some show automation for another attraction used at a Renaissance faire, with a narrated tour and lights that fade on/off throughout the tour as the visitors go through different sections. It's quite a learning experience moving in to the computer controlled show system stuff.
I'll share some photos and videos when I can...
