2/2018 A full site overhaul has begun. Things will look messy for awhile. Eventually, the site should be usable on a phone or tablet. - Allen

Photo coming... TMK's Astro Orbiter

The original Rocket Jets sat far back in Tomorrowland (just in front of Space Mountain) and required taking an elevator up to get to it.

The new Astro Orbiter version was added in 1998 and sits right out near the hub. It is on the ground level. Although it looks much more high tech than the original, the ride experience itself is far less thrilling due to being so close to the ground.

The hydrolics and spinny parts from the original Rocket Jets are still in use in Tomorrowland as the Observatron -- a satelite dish array that comes to life every 15 minutes and spins around while it "scans the universe" for intelligent life.

The Magic Kingdom received a renamed and rethemed Rocket Jets in 1994.
