DL's Pirates of the Caribbean is in New Orleans Square. The queue
area is short and simple, but the ride itself is very long starting
with a trip through Louisiana swamps and then a long journey through
caverns where many scenes of skeleton pirates are found. DL has
given this ride several updates in past years and added new animatronics.
Inside part of the ride building is the Blue Buyou restaurant.
Hard To Believe Trivia: Did you know that the first drop
in Disneyland's Pirates is only 1/2 foot shorter than the big drop
on Splash Mountain? (Pirates is a 52 foot drop at 21 degrees. Splash
is 52 1/2 feet, but the angle is much steeper.)

At
TMK, their Pirates is in Caribbean Plaza which is a corner of Adventureland.
The queue area is massive. It is themed like a fort and has many displays
of cannons and even skeletons playing chess inside. The ride itself
is about half as long as the Disneyland original and many scenes are
missing. There is one new scene at the end. |
