New Orleans Square was not built at The Magic Kingdom since Florida was already pretty close to the real New Orleans. Instead, an entirely new section was added: Liberty Square.

Liberty Square is home to Hall of the Presidents and The Haunted Mansion.

Trivia: Liberty Square was going to be built in Disneyland! A new Liberty Street would have gone East on Main Street just past the Opera House (and hat shop) where the parade route begins/ends. This street would have turned into Liberty Square complete with a Hall of Presidents and other patriotic displays. You can currently see the concept map for this area at the Disneyland Opera House.
