How does Disneyland 2: The Sequel stack up against Walt's original? This section will explore the similarities and differences between the two U.S.A. Magic Kingdoms.

Very special thanks goes to Michael V (also known as "that guy who kinda looks like me") for his research, proofreading and endless contributions to this project. Without his efforts, this section would not be completed anytime soon. Broken links and typos are my fault. Links that work are most certainly his fault. :)

TEST PAGE: This page will evolve as more information is added. Not all links work yet, and some that do work go to pages that have not been completed. This is going to be a very large project and since I only work on it in my spare time, it may take a long time to complete. Knowing how often Disney changes things, it seems likely I'll never be truly caught up!

History of this section: Read the original "Disneyland versus The Magic Kingdom" document I was putting together several years ago. It's in a very rough draft format but it will give you a better idea of the content I plan for this section.

Welcome to the largest undertaking DisneyFans.com has ever undertook. (?) Over the past seven years I have made many trips to Disneyland and Walt Disney World including several week-long visits done back-to-back. This has given me a very good side-by-side impression of the two U.S. Magic Kingdoms. On these pages you will find photos and descriptions which detail the similarities and differences between the two parks. Enjoy, and feel free to send in corrections!

NOTE: When you see items with (?) or other such nonsense, that indicates I don't know the date or some other fact and I have not researched it yet. Feel free to send in any dates that you know -- if I have to do all this research alone, it will take me much longer to complete this section...

Apples to Apples:

Just like you wouldn't compare the RadioShack(tm) down the street to the RealBig Shopping Mall across town, you can't compare Disneyland to Walt Disney World. One is a single theme park sitting on 55 acres of land while the other is 43 square miles of resorts, water parks, animal reserves as well as four theme parks. So, this site takes the two magic kingdom parks (Disneyland and The Magic Kingdom) and compares them. Anything else just wouldn't make sense...

* A "real" ride is anything with a ride vehicle. Disney likes to list things like the shooting gallery as attractions, so the raw attraction numbers above are misleading when it comes to actual rides at either park.

HELP REQUESTED: Can someone send me a scan of a recent WDW Magic Kingdom guide map? I'm specifically wanting the side that lists all the attractions, restaurants, etc. Thanks! (If you feel like doing more work than that, I'd like a count similar to the above Disneyland entry.)
